Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
This summer, rather than having the usual relaxing summer holiday, sun sea sand etc, we've decided to challenge ourselves to cycle from Horsham, Sussex to Weissbriach, Austria in only 2 weeks. This is roughly 1000 miles, through 6 different countries, with 200 miles in the Austrian Alps, including climbing the Grossglockner High Alpine road.
Three of us (James, Lawrie and Craig) are cycling the whole route. Al and Loren will join them for the first leg from Horsham to Frankfurt, Germany (600 miles). Jo and Luke will join them for the second leg from Dinkelsbuhl, Germany to Weissbriach (400 miles). We'll be carrying everything with us and camping on route.
We thought we should do this for charity, and have chosen the British Heart Foundation since the majority of us work in the Nanophysics Group at the University of Bristol and the head of our research group recently had a heart operation.
Departure date is Saturday 9th August, so please sponsor us now!
Thanks,
Jo, James, Lawrie, Craig, Al, Loren and Luke
