Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I can't really believe I'm doing this ... but it's true ... and I'm coming out of denial and getting my sponsorship page set up now, as my training is progressing well and to schedule, and by the end of the day on 23 April, 2006, I'll have run the London Marathon!
Thanks to everyone who's supporting me mentally and physically as well as by pledging sponsorship ... those of you who have offered to (and have) come out for training runs with me in this currently freezing (and those who will in Oz in a few weeks, probably uncomfortably warm) temperatures, you can't imagine how much it helps!
20 Feb - Time for a little update. Today I completed my first race. It was a 10k and I crossed the line in 1 hour 4 minutes and 43 seconds which puts me on target for a sub 5 hour marathon ... a result that I will be delighted with in a little over two months time. I'm not sure if I should add that I was suffering the aftereffects of a little too much wine which probably had an adverse effect on today's time? I also had a chance to speak to a physio about the pain I've had in my foot for the past few weeks, which he diagnosed instantly and has given me some very simple exercises to sort that out, so a superb day overall!
Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
And while I'm being brash and asking for favours ... can you please click through this link and vote for MSRC http://www.howtogivetocharity.org/.
Just pick "The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre" from the charities dropdown list on the page that appears and enter your email address. The site then sends you an email to verify your vote. The charity with the highest percentage of votes will receive royalties from the sale of Jessica Williams' book 'How to Give to Charity', which will be matched by the publisher, Icon Books.
Many thanks for your support.
