6 Villages Nepal Orpanage Cycle Challenge - 18th-20th September 2009
Join us for the challenge of a lifetime.
The annual 3-day testing ride along the 100 mile South Downs Way in aid of the 6 Villages Nepal Orphanage.
Fully organised with food, accommodation, back-up and marshalling.
Last year, the cyclists helped to raise £45,000, providing vital support for destitute children in Nepal.
This year our target is £60,000 to complete the purchase of a children’s home in Katmandu.
Schools, churches and families within the six Sussex villages of Barnham, Climping, Eastergate, Slindon, Walberton and Yapton have already taken up the challenge led by Yapton Free Church, to support the welfare and schooling of more than 50 Nepalese orphans.
We need 60 cyclists to take up this 100-mile challenge, each one aiming to raise £1,000 towards the appeal.
The 3-day event starts from Beachy Head on Friday 18th September, and with stops at Southease & Rodmell, the Youth Hostel at Truleigh Hill, Gumber Bothy, and Queen Elizabeth Country Park, we expect to reach Winchester at the end of the day on Sunday 20th September.
If you can’t join us on the ride or sponsored walk on Saturday 19th September, then please pledge whatever you can afford. No amount is too small. Just £20 covers the cost of feeding, clothing, housing and schooling each child for a month. The £60,000 we aim to raise this year will pay off the mortgage we took out to purchase the new ophanage last year. We very much appreciate your support, and so will the orphans in Nepal!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Yapton Free Church gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks.
