Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'll be taking part in the North West Sprint Triathlon on the 5th September 2010 to support keeping our grey matter safe!   It's a 500m Outdoor Pool Swim, 20k Bike, 5km Run.  I've completed triathlons before, but not for over 4 years.  This time it's for Charity man! Thanks to all that donate.  ::: Click Read More :::

University Hospital of North Staffordshire has a dedicated Neurosurgical Ward on the Royal Infirmary site (Ward 23) comprising 30 beds for the management of all acute and elective neurosurgical disorders.  Within the ward is a dedicated Neurosciences High Dependency Unit.  Adjacent to the ward is a modern Neurosurgical Theatre that is currently resourced to provide nine operating sessions per week.

If you find yourself, a family member, or friend in need of their services, you’ll be in safe hands, as from family experiences (my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law), they have saved two peoples lives that I know of, by determining the problem (Brain Haemorrhage and Brain Tumour), operating in life threating circumstances, and also monitored their long-term recovery!

Whilst they have state of the art equipment that serves the North West and beyond, this level of specialism and resource for responsive treatment, always requires and welcomes funds to help save lives!

The charity itself covers the whole of the Hospital, but all monies raised will be donated to the Neurosurgical Ward 23.
