In 2010, I went on a trip to Colombia that changed my life. 

I was travelling on a motorboat up a river through the jungle. 

We passed a small shack with kids playing outside of it.They were very poor. They didn’t even have any clothes.

But I noticed something, very clearly, that surprised me.

They were happy. They had each other and they were making the most of the situation they were in. 

This experience made me realise how important it is to make the most of what you have and to be happy and grateful for every opportunity you get.

I’m raising money for Friends of Colombia for Social Aid because I want to help children in Colombia get the best start in life by providing them with food, housing and healthcare they need.

On 13th October 2019, I will be running to support the purchase of essential and specialised medical equipment for the paediatrics unit at the Hernando Moncaleano Hospital in Neiva, Huila. This hospital is the main provider of high-complexity care for a population of over 2.2 million, treating around 2.300 urgent and acute paediatric cases every month, in an area that extends to the departments of Huila, Tolima, Caquetá, Putumayo and Cauca in the south-central region of Colombia.

Please support me as I fundraise for FOCSA and train for the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 13 October.
