Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This is my second London marathon. What a day!
I finished in 3.57.38 which I am really pleased about. I really wanted to complete in under 4 hours and so this was a great and hard won achievement. 50 minutes faster than last time in 2006. I kept on the pace for the 18 miles but just couldn't keep in going after that. The last 6 miles were very tough but I kept running, never walked or stopped and managed a sprint of sorts for the last 200 metres. The weather was pretty hot to run in. I'm more used to early mornings at 5C! It was around 20C in central London today which was good the crowds but sticky for the runners. My feet are a bit of a mess but hopefully I can stop limping around by mid-week. The crowds were fantastic all the way around- thanks to especially to Mary for her support. The organisation from race stewards and drink stations was good and very welcome. I don't want to have another Lucazade gel for many months to come. Thanks to Vitalise for the post-race massage. Thank you to everyone for your support and perhaps this has encouraged you to have a go next year?
Vitalise provide essential breaks for disabled people and their carers at 5 purpose built holiday centres throughout England. They cater over 150 different disabilities including cerebral palsy, Alzheimer's and MS. My sponsorship target will pay for the cost of specialist nursing care for 6 guests for a week each.
It costs Vitalise £350 to get a place for me at the London Marathon and I have already contributed this amount myself so everything you can give goes straight to them.

Thank you so much for your support.
