We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

My mum was fit and healthy until one September evening last year when she had a seizure.. this was to become the first day of our journey and battle with cancer.. although we didn't know it. After an mri scan we were delivered the devastating news that mum had a grade 4 brain tumor which left untreated would give her 6 months to live. She had a major operation to remove a large proportion of this and on the 6th December started aggressive radiotherapy treatment 5 days a week for 6 weeks..We had a wonderfully blessed Christmas but on her last treatment day she just collapsed.. and this was to be the beginning of her decline she still battled and started chemotherapy but we could all see she was just getting weaker.. Finally she did collapse and spent a few days in Paris in intensive care .. on the 14th April we were told that the tumor was growing aggressively again and that she had 2-12 weeks to live.. we brought her home on the 16th April and she hasn't moved out of bed since then.. we have carers 3 times a day and army of people who support us and we've had  few times where we have thought this is it.. but she is still with us.. weak and frail. But she has been a joy to look after in fact its been a privilege and we have been so blessed as a family through this time.. Our faith has held us all and Mum just has a beautiful peaceful face.. We know where mum is going and that we are in gods hands.. we are so grateful for the medical teams who have been involved with mum, the care has been incredible. Mum was a keen walker this was one of her favorite past times so my sister and I and a lot of friends are joining us to walk for mum on the 27th September... Please support us in raising money for cancer..

Mum's favorite bible verse is " this is the day the lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it... " she still says it now..

Help to beat brain tumor's.

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. This September, I’m raising money at Shine Night Walk to help Cancer Research UK beat brain tumours sooner.

Each year in the UK, over 9,400 people, including around 400 children, are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. But they can be hard to treat and around 5,000 people in the UK lose their lives to the disease every year. This is why Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work must continue.

Please dig deep and sponsor me. Every pound you donate will help fund their life-saving work.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.

Sleep can wait. Beating cancer can’t.
