Story

Hello, my name is Niree and in December 2021 I had a horse riding accident which resulted in a spinal cord injury and full time pernament wheelchair user. I haven't let this injury bring me down and instead I have embraced it. I've met amazing new people in a similar situation as myself through this fantastic charity Spinal Injuries Scotland. And also the support and advice from this charity has been incredible. To honor this charity, I am doing 'The wee wander' Kiltwalk 2024 in Glasgow alongside my work place, friends and family who are joining me in this challenge💪 All donations are kindly appreciated, thank you.

Peer Support is at the heart of what we do. Our volunteers are former patients or have a family member with aspinal injury. These Peer Supporters use their own experience of a spinal injury in a meaningful and positive way by drawing on their own personal experience of recovery to help others going through a difficult rehabilitation by offering empathy and understanding, and by encouraging the development of mutual supportrelationships.

About the charity

At Spinal Injuries Scotland we support those coming to terms with a spinal injury. Inform those living with spinal injury and influence decision-makers to shape the world for those with spinal injury.
