Story
All lifeboats in the UK are run by volunteers, and ours is no different. We have no paid staff, and we all give our own time to help others who need us. Many of our crew have busy day jobs, but when the pager goes off, they are at the Lifeboat Station within minutes and ready to respond to any emergency in or near water. Nith Inshore Rescue is an independent lifeboat, which means we are not linked to the RNLI and have to raise all our own funds in order to run. This amounts to around £20,000 per year (not including unforeseen expenses).
Four crew members have bravely (or stupidly) put themselves forward for Tough Mudder 2018 to raise funds for the Lifeboat. They are training hard so please support them by giving what you can.
