Why the big shave? Well, it's simple really - so I can help.

For the last 26 years I've had my hair cut, worn it in all sorts of different styles, straight, curly, frizzy, wavy, plaited it, twisted it, worn it up and down. But I came to the realisation that I am so privileged to have hair that grows, which made me think about those who have lost their hair because of cancer side effects or alopecia.

Imagine waking up one morning and finding piles of hair on your pillow? How would you feel if you hair stopped growing, your eyebrows and eyelashes began to fall out?

The Little Princess Trust gives hope to children by providing real hair wigs - and at a cost of £350 per wig - I can only help them out by donating my hair and raising money for the charity as well as spreading the word about the work they do.

My hair might only be enough for one wig, but at least I'll be able to help one child somewhere smile. The money raised will contribute to the charity's hard work and also to the lives that they're making a difference to. I hope you can donate to this charity - even if it's only £1, it will add up add hopefully I'll be able to reach my target or exceed it?

Please contribute (any amount) to help children who have gone through the ordeal of loosing their hair, children who have cried and asked countless times "why me?", your contribution will make a difference to a child somewhere!

Now it's time to give my hair away, to a child who has gone through the traumatic experience of hair loss. The Big Shave will be on 24th December 2015.
