Story
I am running the BUPA Great North Run on 19th September 2010 to help raise much needed money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
There are an estimated 2 million people in the UK who are living with Cancer and sadly I lost my beloved Uncle Colin to Cancer earlier this year.
Because of the advanced stages of Cancer Colin was suffering there was little I could do to help him. However in the last few weeks of Colin’s life the Macmillan nurses were able to provided him with help, support and comfort. Everything the nurses did was so kind and selfless that I wanted to do something to help raise money for their charity and to show exactly how much Colin’s family appreciated everything they did for us and Colin.
So, on the 19th September 6 months after I had to say my final good bye to Uncle Colin, I will be running 13.1 miles in his memory. So please donate generously to help support the fantastic work that the MacMillan nurses carryout for millions of people everyday.
