Story
Well it was a cracking day for 10k racing in Edinburgh yesterday - sunny and warm. The course was a tough one with some good long hills including Queen's Drive up alongside Arthur's Seat from Holyrood. The men's best time was Bernard Kipyego in 28.59 who said "There were some big hills on the course so I was a little afraid, but I'm happy about the result" (so would I be!). The women's winner Benita Johnson in 32.20
My time was well short of those and, alas, also my target at 45.58, placing 532 in a field of 8500 (although many runners were fancy dressed as Star Wars characters, it being some related anniversary apparently). Too many pies on my skiing holiday could be to blame for the sub-par performance, but at least my knees live to run another day.
Anyway, I must say thank you very much for your support for the event.
In all you have donated over £550 to a very good cause in Percy Hedley Foundation.
Thank you indeed.
