We are eleven intrepid swimmers of Out To Swim, London attempting to swim across theEnglish Channel in two relay teams.  The eventual landing in France will definitely be worth the sacrificed Saturdays swimming around Dover Harbour, the salty tongues, frozen toes and images of floating poo… we’re sure.  Actually we’re having a blast, enjoying the camaraderie of savouring hot cups of coffee, teeth chattering and wrapped up in scarves while everyone else sits sweltering on the beach wearing almost nothing.  Not to mention the ongoing conversations about how to keep your dignity while changing on the beach, the politics of wearing Crocs and whether it is France in the distance or just a ferry...

Update:  We made it to the French shore twice!  The first boatful of mad people landed on the21st of September and the second touched French in the early hours of the 24th of September.  Thank you so much for all your support!  We are now trying to catch up on sleep and relive all the funny/pukey/jittery moments in the comfort of our homes and the pub, and of course the heated swimming pool....
