We campaign, support and fund research to stop people dying of bowel cancer

Story

When I was 18 I trained for the Larne Coast Road Marathon... slept in and missed it. Now I am 42 and have to kick the monkey off my back. So I am running the 2010 Dublin Marathon at the end of October. Enough about me.....

Bowel Cancer is the 3rd most common cancer in the UK and second most common amongst UK women. More than 100 people are diagnosed every day.

There could be up to 20,000 fewer deaths from bowel cancer in the UK over the next 20 years if just 60% of those eliglble took up the invitation for screening.

Research suggests that over 90% of bowel cancer patients will survive  the disease for more than 5 years if diagnosed in the earliest stages.

Bowel Cancer UK www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk aims to save lives by raising awarenes of bowel cancer, campaigning for the best treatment and care and providing practical support and advice.
