In the summer of 2022 Tom Waugh, an ex-pupil of our primary school, was killed here in Tonbridge, an innocent victim of a violent knife crime. Tom’s death had a huge impact on all who loved and knew him with his loss continuing to be felt every day. Now, two years on, we as a school are looking to fundraise, in memory of Tom, for the charity ‘Victim Support’ to say thank you to them for the support that they have provided to Tom’s family following his death. We hope too to raise awareness of the impact of knife crime not just on the families of victims but on the wider community too.

Therefore, on September 29th 2024 a group of staff here in school will be running in either the Tonbridge half marathon, 10km or 5km events in memory of Tom and looking for our friends, families and the local school community to sponsor us with all funds raised being donated to the charity, Victim Support Homicide Team. These runs will be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging for all involved so thank you in anticipation of your support, either by donating or by being there at the run to give us a cheer on the 29th.
