Story
In May last year I took on the challenge of competing in The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in memory of my father Chris who sadly lost his battle with MND on January 29th 2024.
That day was a very special day for me my official finishing time was 5.5.55 which was the number my Dad wore in shirt in his football career
Since his diagnoses and passing, the support myself and my family have had has been incredible from all ways of life which was testament to the person my Dad was
Last year collectively with my cousin Gemma who ran with me last year, We had raised just over £10,000 for the MND Association which is just mindblowing!
I had signed up straight away to run again this year and sadly not been able to do much training due to a knee injury which is getting better but I take on Gloucester Half Marathon tomorrow (Sunday 30th March) in hope the knee will be kind to me to give me the confidence to run Leeds again on May 11th this year
Then last night, I was the luckiest man alive, meeting the incredible Kevin Sinfield and he has just gave me that drive and confidence to do it again so I WILL be running Leeds again in May
I know so many of you put your hard earned money into supporting me and the whole MND Communuty last year, which I am and will be forever grateful for, I would really appreciate all of your support again
Thank you so much for reading this and let's all get behind the MNDA to try and do our bit support families living with MND and hopefully one day find a cure which will get rid of this awful disease!
Many thanks and love to you all! 🙏
