2024 is a special year for me and my family as it marks 10 years since we suddenly lost my dad; Darren Kernot. He was the most incredible man and is missed every single day on this earth. On the 3rd March 2014 my dad tragically lost his life to a heart condition called Brugada syndrome. It is a rare condition and there are still big gaps in the understanding of Brugada. Which is why (paired with this being a significant anniversary of my dads passing) I have set myself a massive challenge...

I knew I wanted to do something special in memory of my dad this year and so I will be attempting to raise £10,000 across all of 2024, hence the '10 Years - 10 Grand' challenge name. Between now and the 31st December I will be taking part in a wide range of challenges and fundraisers, drafting in friends and family to celebrate the life my dad had and to raise as much as possible so that we can try and reduce the risk of anymore families suddenly losing a loved one.

It is going to be a long and challenging year but with that brings so much potential for new adventures, too give back, to push myself out my comfort zone and just live each day to its fullest.

I would really love it if you would join this journey and support our every step. Share our updates far and wide, donate what you can and even join in if you are able to. I know I'm asking for a lot but I'm not expecting people to donate every month. Give a little when you can and it all adds up.

Let's remember my dad in the best way possible by donating as much as we can and give science the best chance we can to help stop other families experiencing such a devastating loss.
