Story
Hello everyone, my name is Kirsten I am 30 years old, I will be doing this challenge as it’s very close to my heart. On 31st of December 2023 I suffered from a subarachnoid brain aneurysm, resulting in me having traumatic surgery and short term memory loss. I was induced into a coma for 5 days surgery on my brain 5 coils fitted in my brain over the weak spot and in hospital for a month. I was considered to be stage 3 meaning there was a large possibility I was not going to make it, however due to me being young I suppose I fought hard and had incredible support around me. People say you’re very lucky and to me I think well yeah I am but am I lucky to have had it in the first place? But I have so I thought now is the time for me to help others who have maybe experienced similar experiences or maybe even worse. I’m slowly getting there my life has absolutely changed I have lost confidence and lost the feeling of having a purpose but as this year is going on I have definitely started to gain some back and life is coming back. I want to do this challenge and help others or relatives who have maybe had the same. Please help us out and donate for this amazing cause anything counts ♥️
I want to Thank you all for your support and love over the last year I couldn’t have done it without any of you xx
This November, I am thrilled to be part of the SameYou team of fundraisers. The theme for the Step by Step Together challenge is connection. Therefore, I'm committing to walking 25 miles in 14 days with a loved one or furry friend in support of brain injury recovery. I need your support to make this challenge a success!
What is SameYou?

Why support me?
Every step I take during November will bring us closer to transforming the lives of those affected by brain injuries.
Brain injury can happen to anyone. With 1 in 3 people experiencing a brain injury in their lifetime, you will know someone with a brain injury at some point and this is your opportunity to come together and make a difference.
