Raising money for Ashgate Hospice.
Each year Ashgate Hospice must raise £11m to continue to deliver their crucual palliative and end of life care. Only 31% of their income comes from NHS budgets.
Ashgate Hospice provide palliative and end-of-life care and bereavement support. They care for people with life-limiting illness, including cancer, neurological diseases and end-stage heart, kidney and lung diseases.
Last year they supported 1,855 people in their own homes, 317 people at their inpatient unit in Chesterfield and 651 people with counselling and bereavement support.
Ashgate Hospice is not an NHS Hospice. So, while extra funding has been announced by the Government for health and social care, charities like Ashgate Hospice rely on donations and goodwill of their supporters to provide care.
