Story

Hi, my name's Cris. A couple of years ago I decided to follow my crazy dream... to climb the highest mountain on each continent (also known as the 7 Summits challenge) from sea level and back to sea level. Every single meter up and down, and on foot.

I'm starting this journey in January 2024 by walking from the Pacific Ocean in Chile, to the summit of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, and back to the Pacific Ocean. Covering a distance of 500 kilometers and over 6,900 meters in ascent and descent.

Followed by Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, in February.

During my journey, I want to help raise money for the International Rescue Committee (IRC Foundation). A charity that works to help people affected by humanitarian crises survive, recover, and rebuild their lives.

As an immigrant from a foreign country, I initially had a hard time when I moved to the UK from Romania, and although that hardship would never compare with the feeling of being torn away from one's country, I empathize with their isolation and struggle. I strongly believe that everyone should be given the best possible chance at succeding in life.
