Story
On 26 April 2026, I will be running the London Marathon as part of Team Hospice in support of Hospice UK.
Training for a marathon is a significant physical and mental challenge, but I am undertaking it to support a cause that is deeply meaningful to me.
This cause is particularly close to my heart. Before he passed away, my great-uncle Roger was cared for by a hospice. The kindness, dignity, and support he received made an immeasurable difference to him and to our family. I am proud to run in his memory and to raise funds for such an essential and compassionate service.
Hospice care plays a vital role in helping individuals live as fully and comfortably as possible in the final stages of life. Yet, despite its importance, too many people still do not have access to the hospice care they need.
Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice and end-of-life care. It supports more than 200 hospices across the UK, enabling them to provide personalised, expert care to over 310,000 people every year. However, these services are under considerable financial pressure and urgently need our support.
I have committed to raising £2,200 in aid of Hospice UK, and your donation — no matter the size — will help make a lasting impact. Together, we can help ensure that everyone facing the end of life receives the care, dignity, and support they deserve.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
