Story

In April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon — all 26.2 miles of it! 🏃‍♂️

I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for Calvert Devon, a charity that means so much to me and my family. Calvert Devon is dedicated to providing accessible, life-changing outdoor activity breaks for people with disabilities, their families, and carers. From climbing and canoeing to abseiling, horse riding, cycling and more, they give people of all abilities the chance to try things many never thought possible. Just as importantly, they give families the gift of respite, support, and the chance to make amazing memories together in a safe and understanding environment.

I’ve seen the impact of Calvert Devon first-hand. I work in a special needs school where many of our students, staff, and families have stayed, and I’ve also been several times with my brother-in-law and family. It gave him — and us — the chance to experience activities we never imagined he’d be able to do, in a place where he could just be himself. The difference Calvert Devon makes to confidence, happiness, and family life is truly priceless, and I’d love to give something back to a place that has given us so much. ❤️

It’s going to be a huge challenge, but every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Calvert Devon keep changing lives and giving families the experiences and support they deserve. Thank you so much for your support — together, we can make every mile matter. 💪

We are Calvert Devon; a registered charity and outdoor activity centre where adventure has no limits. We have been welcoming guests with physical, behavioural, sensory and learning disabilities since 1996 and are the only centre of this kind in the south of England.

Open to all and specialising in accessible activities for all abilities, we make the impossible possible. Children, adults, families, groups and schools can feel the rush of zooming down a zipwire, conquering the climbing wall and paddling across open water, taking on thrilling challenges they never thought possible.

With expert, person-centred support, specialist equipment and adaptive accommodation, we create life-changing and fully accessible adventures that break down barriers and build confidence, independence and unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.
