Jean, 82, lives alone in the home she once shared with her late husband. One afternoon, a man posing as a utility worker pushed past her and stole her purse. Shaken and frightened, Jean stopped answering her door — even to friends — and struggled to sleep at night.

Through a referral from Victim Support, the Bobby Scheme visited the very next day. Our experienced team fitted a high-security lock, added a door viewer and chain, and trimmed back overgrown shrubs to make her entrance more visible. We also gave Jean clear, easy-to-follow advice on spotting scams and suspicious emails.

Within hours, Jean told us, “I feel like I’ve got my home back. I’m not afraid anymore.”
