Adjoa's fundraiser for Different Strokes (Trustees) Limited

March On For Stroke 2025 · 1 March 2025 to 31 March 2025 ·
My father, Christian Kow (Ekow) Gharban had a stroke at the young age of 47 and felt the effects of stroke throughout his life. Daddy was clever, gentle and fun and despite having a stroke so young, was determined in having a good life. I am so proud of how he dealt with his stroke and health issues and cannot explain how much we miss him as a family. This March On challenge (15k steps every day in March) is for him and other stroke survivors, who just want to continue living well.

Every year 100,000 people have a stroke and a 1/4 of these people are under the age of 65. That's 25,000 younger people whose lives are changed in an instant.
Stroke is also the single biggest cause of disability in the UK, but it's not always the visible disabilities that stroke survivors have to contend with, debilitating fatigue, cognitive problems and personality changes can also be a lifelong challenge, preventing them from returning to work or bringing up a young family.
Different Strokes empowers younger survivors to reclaim their lives.
