In July, I'll be taking part in a 10k run to fundraise for Da'aro Youth Project. This remarkable charity is dedicated to supporting young asylum seekers from the Horn of Africa, providing them with the assistance they need to rebuild their lives.

By supporting this fundraising campaign, Da'aro can provide teachers and resources for ESOL classes, as well as outdoor activities for our young people.

Our caseworkers work tirelessly to assist young asylum seekers, providing support with family reunification, housing, and education.

I have volunteered at the Injera Club for four years and joined as trustee in September 2023. As my parents and elder siblings came to this country as refugees, it has been moving to learn from young people about their dangerous journeys and challenges with assimilating to life in the UK.

With fundraising and further support, Da'aro Youth Project can continue to provide transformational support to asylum seekers.
