AFC Welwyn Ladies FC – Supporting Wear It Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
This October, AFC Welwyn Ladies FC are proudly joining the Wear It Pink campaign to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity 🩷
As a community-focused football club ⚽ : we’re passionate about using our platform to make a positive impact — both on and off the pitch. Throughout October, we’ll be:
⚽ Wearing specially designed football shirts during all our fixtures
🎗️ Setting up charity donation boxes at games
📣 Promoting the Wear It Pink campaign across our social media channels and within our local community to help spread awareness and inspire donations
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to a future where everyone who develops breast cancer lives — and lives well.
Words from the AFC Welwyn Ladies Manager - Danny:
"About 18 months ago a close family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. Seeing someone so full of life suddenly face something so serious was heartbreaking for all of us. The treatment was tough, surgery, chemo, and endless hospital visits, showed me she was really strongest person I know. She still is and thanks to incredible care and life-saving research, she’s now in remission and back full of life and brightens up a room, when she walks into it.
Her journey has showed me how important fundraising really is. It really does help fund research, support services, and early detection — things that truly save lives.
That’s why, through AFC Welwyn’s social media platforms, we’re using our reach to spread awareness and raise even more money for such an important cause close to my heart. The more people we reach, the more lives we can help change. Please donate if you can."
