In a world where suicide remains the leading cause of mortality among men under 45, and the construction industry grapples with the highest suicide rate in the UK, CALM emerges as a guiding light. This organization is at the forefront of a movement against the scourge of suicide, extending critical services and propelling impactful campaigns that seek to reshape our cultural landscape.

Our chosen odyssey involves a thrilling cycling adventure between two of our esteemed North UK offices, embarking on a remarkable journey spanning over 100 miles from Stonecross to Ollerton, traversing the breath-taking yet demanding landscapes of the Peak District. This journey, marked by its undulating challenges, includes conquering the renowned Category 2 ascent at Cat & Fiddle. For many among us, this expedition signifies a maiden voyage into the realm of a 100-mile cycle—an audacious leap into the unknown, bolstered by our determination to overcome every obstacle.

At the heart of our endeavour is the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), an organization leading the charge against the shadow of suicide. Astonishingly, every week witnesses 125 individuals in the UK succumbing to this silent struggle, with an overwhelming 75% of these souls being male. CALM rises to the occasion, armed with a mission to reverse this harrowing trend. They offer life-saving interventions, kindle the flames of candid conversations, and foster a sense of unity that defies the grip of misery.

CALM's support extends from valuable advice dispensed on their digital platform to confidential conversations steered by their compassionate helpline staff—available seamlessly online or via telephone. A modest £8 contribution holds the potential to finance a call that could rewrite the script of a life.
