Story
Age Scotland is the Scottish charity for older people. Through my work, I've been fortunate to work with, and be supported by, so many extraordinary colleagues at Age Scotland over the years.
I've witnessed firsthand the passion and commitment Age Scotland has for improving the lives of older people in Scotland. If I can help support that in a small way by dangling off the Kelpies, sign me up!
So at the end of May, alongside colleagues from Heriot-Watt, I'll be taking part in Age Scotland's Kelpie climb and abseil to support their ongoing fundraising efforts.
£500 would cover the cost of 100 phone calls to Age Scotland's friendship line, a free helpline providing impartial and confidential information to older people, their carers and families.
"This service gave me hope. They listen to you, and they don't judge you. The calls always make me feel less alone", Helen, helpline caller.
Funding is vital as Age Scotland strives to improve lives via their helpline, as well as supporting older people’s groups, promoting age and dementia-friendly communities, delivering wellbeing programmes, and campaigning on behalf of older people.
Any donation will directly support this work and more. Thank you.
