Story

I'm running the Leeds Half Marathon on 11 May to help support an amazing charity that helps so many families and people with Down syndrome. A close friend and his family have benefited from the fantastic support offered over the last 5 years and it's so important that this continues for them and other families.

About me... I'm a 45 year old bloke who's never run a half marathon before, started training way later than I should have done, but will 100% give it my all to get it done!

Down Syndrome Training & Support Service

The Down Syndrome Training & Support Service has been providing vital support to families caring for a child with Down syndrome and the professionals who work with them for 25 years.

It supports over 420 families and 200 organisations and strives to improve the education, inclusion and development of people with Down syndrome.

Starting at birth, providing early intervention and support for parents, training for schools, speech & language sessions, a youth club - up to supporting young adults through independent living skills and work skills projects, the charity is fully committed to supporting all involved in improving the lives of people with Down syndrome.
