Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.

Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.

Lee Roberts was made totally blind during the COVID outbreak, all because he had an abscess on a tooth and was unable to attend a Dentist because they were mostly closed. This resulted in an infection which spread to his heart and other organs and he woke up one morning in hospital unable to see.

This has not prevented Lee from trying to do normal activities. He has started ballroom dancing, and with the assistance of his teacher, Amanda Parker of PARKERDANCE, has entered his first competition.

And now, assisted by his guide dog Isha, he is taking part in a group climb of Mount Snowdon with friends and pupils from PARKERDANCE.

All proceeds from the climb will be going to the Guide Dogs charity.
