Alastair Islip is raising money for THE LITTLE PUSH 4 GOOD

Little Push / Parker Young 3 Peaks Walk · 17 May 2025 ·

Our vision is for a more active world for better mental health. Decades of science prove that having an activity focus (physical activity, music, art, learning) can both promote mental wellbeing and help people to recover from mental illness. We help people currently struggling with their mental health and supported by NHS teams. Our aim is to help them unlock an activity focus which can be an important part of their recovery alongside the medical and psychological support they are receiving. It is highly likely that as you read this that you, a loved one or a friend is struggling with their mental health. Over 8m people are taking prescription medications for a mental health issue and 1.8m people are being supported by NHS Mental Health teams. This crisis is impacting on millions of families and we aim to change the script by putting activity at the heart of both promoting mental wellbeing and recovering from mental illness. Please donate to help us support thousands of people struggling with their mental health and help create a world where activity is seen as important to mental health as it is to physical health.

Story

UPDATE - 3 becomes 5 as we add Richard Hanvey and Tom Furber to the ranks. 5 friends going back 25 years..some of us actually 35 years…a challenge that i honestly can’t wait for as we get some much needed quality time together. If you can donate we’d all be ever so grateful.

The 3 of us are taking on this 3 Peaks Challenge as friends of over 25 years - a chance to spend time with mates, to overcome adversity together, and continue to strengthen bonds that will already last us a lifetime. All things which are crucial to emotional wellbeing, social connection and resilience building - ways to build positive mental health, which is part of the message of the brilliant initiative that is The Little Push 4 Good.
