Running (at least a mile) every day in October

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

We have joined a wonderful team to raise money for Dementia UK. The challenge is to mark Jo’s 40th year of running and in memory of her Mum & Tracy’s Dad.

We have pledged to run (at least a mile) every day in October.

This is what the rest of our team will be doing:

Tracy - Walking/running 1,000,000 steps during October

Jo - Walking/running or biking 4.0 miles per day and holding a plank for 4 minutes

Carol (Tracy’s Mum) 10,000 steps per day

Mike - At least 7,000 steps per day

Sylvia - Canterbury 20 mile trail run

Abbi (Tracy’s daughter) - 30 push ups, 30 sit ups and 30 v sits per day

Maria - 10 minutes of skipping, 10,00 steps and 100 sit ups per day

To kick start the challenge, there is a team of us who are taking part in all or some of a 2 day challenge over the weekend of 27-28th September

Saturday 27th - 4-5 mile kayak/ paddle board on the Stour from Grove Ferry followed by a 8.5 mile run from Canterbury to Whitstable along the Crab and Winkle Way (Henry will be completing the run).

Sunday 28th - Cycling from Tankerton to Dover around the Viking coastal path (45-50 miles). Both of us will be cycling 15 miles of the route.
