A Bunch of Tits! 💗
In September 2026 I will be running the Great North Run (13.1 miles, from Newcastle to South Shields) alongside my wife Kate, and her best friend Zoe.
For the last year Kate has been fighting breast cancer, having had numerous operations, 6 sets of Chemotherapy and 20 sessions of Radiotherapy. We will be running to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that has been an incredible support and resource to Kate throughout her treatment. We also run in solidarity with anyone that has ever been affected by this horrible disease.
Please read Kate's story below:
"In October 2024, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: “It’s breast cancer.” In that moment, everything changed — not just for me, but for my husband Dean, my best friend Zoe, and for everyone who loves me.
The year that followed was brutal: 76 hospital visits, 9 scans, 3 biopsies, 2 operations, 4 emergencies (including one ambulance ride), 5 months of chemotherapy, and 20 sessions of radiotherapy.
Cancer treatment is exhausting, relentless, and utterly terrifying. People told me I was strong — but I felt the weakest I've ever felt. They said I was brave — but it didn’t feel like that.
Cancer didn’t feel like a battle; it felt like an endurance challenge. But with Zoe, Dean, and all my amazing friends and family at my side, I kept going — one day, one appointment, one small victory at a time.
Now, together, the three of us are taking on the Great North Run to raise money for Breast Cancer Now — the charity that supported me through my darkest days and continues to help thousands of others facing breast cancer.
We're running for the 1 in 7 women in the UK who will hear those life-changing words: 'It’s breast cancer.'
Every donation, no matter how small, helps Breast Cancer Now continue their incredible work. Thank you for supporting us — it means the world."
