Story
Here we go, I'm going to open up online for just a second…
Turns out, sometimes life throws massive curveballs and worst-case scenarios your way. Over the last six months, I’ve been introduced to a whole host of new experiences, both good and bad. A new addition to the family has been wild, and a new diagnosis has been even wilder.
My husband was diagnosed with a grade 4 terminal brain tumour; right in the middle of us navigating life with our new one month old son. It’s been overwhelming, surreal, and completely life-changing.
Right now, only 13% of people diagnosed with a high-grade brain tumour survive beyond five years. That statistic is heartbreaking, and it simply isn't good enough for our family, or anyone else facing this.
So, I’m running 13km in the Fuck Brain Tumours event. Every kilometre is for each person who deserves better odds, and the urgent need for improved treatments and real hope. Brain tumour research receives a fraction of national cancer funding, and we desperately need to change that.
If you're able to donate or share this page, it means more to me than I can say.
