Alex Wall is raising money for Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's HAT)

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

The aim of our charity improve the lives of children and their families affected by hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Every year 1 in every 770 babies are born with the condition and many more children acquire it.

Story

This April, I’ll be running the 2025 London Marathon to raise money for Harry’s Hat, a charity that has been incredibly supportive to our family since Seb’s diagnosis in December 2021.

As you may know, Hydrocephalus is a lifelong condition—it doesn’t simply go away. That’s why having the support of a charity like Harry’s Hat has been invaluable. They’ve always been there to answer our questions and help us navigate the challenges we face.

This will be my first marathon, and I’m really looking forward to it! My goal is to get as close to 3 hours as possible (or even beat it). With a half marathon PB of 1:27:50, let’s see how it goes!

Thank you so much in advance—your donation means a lot!

Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's HAT) was founded in 2018, the charity is user-led. The aim of the charity is to make life better for children with hydrocephalus and their families.

Every year 1 in 770 babies will develop hydrocephalus, there is no cure and it is currently the most common reason for brain surgery in children. The charity exists to raise awareness, promote training and so improve patient care, support families to reduce isolation and to campaign for better awareness of infant head circumference measurement.
