Story
We’re coming together to take part in Trek26 for my beautiful dad, Mike Booth, who has been battling against frontotemporal lobe dementia (FTD) for the past 12 years. FTD is one of the least common types of dementia, and you can read more about it here. Unfortunately, Mike is now at the later stages of his dementia and is receiving palliative care, we are doing our best to make sure he is comfortable during this difficult time.
Mike always loved a hike in the Lake District, and it is something that he regularly did in his spare time when he was able to. He often admired the views from our hometown in Morecambe and I know he would be very happy at the thought of us coming together to do this 13 mile trek for him.
Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
