Story

We’re coming together to take part in Trek26 in memory of Mike Booth, who sadly passed away on the 13th February 2025. Mike battled against frontotemporal lobe dementia (FTD) for 12 years. FTD is one of the least common types of dementia, and you can read more about it here (https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-dementia/types-dementia/frontotemporal-dementia).

Mike always loved a hike in the Lake District, and it is something that he regularly did in his spare time when he was able to. He often admired the views from our hometown in Morecambe and I know he would be very happy at the thought of us coming together to do this 13 mile trek for him.

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.

Thank you for choosing to trek for Alzheimer's Society, together we can be help and hope to everyone affected by dementia.
