Maldon Mud Race 2026
Campaign by The Maldon Mud Race (RCN 1135532)
A race through the mud and water of the river Blackwater at Maldon in Essex. A great way of raising funds for many charities. A fun day for all. In 2025 you can enter a team, come in fancy dress, or just take part...

Story

Cape Fear of Mud is a team of friends and family taking on the 2026 Maldon Mud Race — battling across the River Blackwater through deep, unforgiving mud, in aid of local charities, in loving memory of our incredible son, friend, cousin and brother, and of all those who have struggled with their mental health or have lost someone to suicide.

Half of everything we raise will be donated to CALM, a charity that is very close to our hearts. CALM supports people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts, as well as the friends and families left behind after the unimaginable loss of suicide.

So many people never expect to struggle with their mental health — until they do. Mental health challenges don’t discriminate, and in some way, they are likely to touch every one of us, whether personally or through someone we love. In those moments, feeling alone can be overwhelming — and no one should ever have to face that feeling on their own.

We’ve set up a JustGiving page, and we would be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter how small. Every pound raised for CALM helps keep their life-saving helpline running and supports vital work to raise awareness and understanding of suicide and its devastating impact.

Please consider donating via our JustGiving page and help spur us on as we quite literally throw ourselves into the mud for a cause that truly matters.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts 💛
