Ali Jackson is raising money for Friends of Reepham Primary School

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

A team of parents running the London Marathon to raise funds for Friends of Reepham Primary School – supporting our children’s learning, play, and community, one mile at a time!

Story

So in April 2026 I will be running my first ever marathon and I would be grateful for your support!

Up until a couple of years ago my running experience consisted solely of completing Couch to 5k programs, having a few months off and then starting the process all over again! However, after accepting a transfer to complete the Run Norwich 10k I caught the ‘running bug’ and have since undertaken various 10ks and half marathons. The full 26.2 miles was always on the horizon as a ‘what if’ and having the opportunity to run for my daughters’ primary school was the push I needed to take up the challenge!

Reepham Primary is a small, rural school with a giant heart. It's a place where children are encouraged, supported, and inspired - not just in the classroom, but beyond it. Indeed its reputation is one of the reasons we chose to move to Reepham 10 years ago to establish our family home. As with many schools budgets are tight and the Friends of Reepham Primary School play a crucial role in enhancing the school experience for students either through the provision or resources, funding school trips or organising events to bring the local community together.

Playgrounds are, in my opinion, a vital part of schools as it is through play/sport that children can learn teamwork, gain confidence, build new friendships and create memories that will last long into adulthood. I can still remember when my primary school had a Trim Track installed and we weren’t limited to playing football or IT at breaktime!

Due to work commitments it is very rare that I am able to do the ‘school run’ or assist with after school events that The Friends arrange, therefore it is fantastic to be able to give something back to our local community and I am very proud to have been given the opportunity to run for The Friends.

I have seen firsthand both the difference that funding from The Friends can make to school life and the enthusiasm that the children have for the project as evidenced by their fundraising efforts for the Rock N’ Run Fun Run! If you could support the cause and make a donation so that we can improve the school facilities for current and future generations the school children and I would be most grateful.

Many thanks

Ali
