Ali, Kayleigh, Emily & Charlotte Walk the Big One for Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde

Alison Battersby is raising money for Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde

Walk the Big One 2026 · 18 September 2026

Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were. We’re a charity in Blackpool Wyre and Fylde who aims to provide information, support and social activities for people suffering from acquired brain injuries. We also aim to support carers, family and friends. Perhaps most importantly, we offer the chance to share experiences knowing that the group members understand some of the problems and difficulties that acquired brain injury brings.

Story

Hi everyone,

We’re Ali, Kayleigh, Emily and Charlotte from the Court of Protection Team at Fletchers Solicitors, and on 18 September 2026 we’ll be taking on the challenge of climbing The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach to raise money for Headway Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde.

In our jobs, we work closely with people and families whose lives have been changed by serious injury and brain injury, so we see first-hand how important organisations like Headway are. The support, guidance and community they provide can make such a huge difference to people navigating incredibly difficult circumstances.

Headway Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde does amazing work supporting local people affected by brain injuries, helping them rebuild confidence, independence and connections with others. We’re really proud to support such an important local charity.

We’ll be climbing 235ft to the summit of The Big One (which definitely feels slightly terrifying already!) and would be so grateful for any donations, big or small, to help support the charity’s work.

Thank you so much for your support!

— Ali, Kayleigh, Emily & Charlotte
