I am a long term supporter of Ride and Stride – apart from being a grand day out, it allows us to discover wonderful ancient buildings whilst enjoying our local countryside.

However, most importantly, it raises funds for county Church Trusts; these are then able to provide a buffer to parishes when hit with a large repair bill.

As congregations dwindle, I feel it is important that even if we do not have a faith, we share responsibility for maintaining the legacy that centuries of local residents have left our communities.
