Ehrlich & I are running the Brighton Half Marathon in Feb 2027 to raise money for The Sussex Beacon. Thanks for supporting us if you're able!
The Sussex Beacon provide vital support for people living with HIV, including:
Specialist Casework Support: A dedicated caseworker provides tailored support, ensuring people can access additional services as needed.
Long-term Health Management: Guidance to help people manage their health effectively and navigate healthcare systems with confidence.
Peer Support: Connect with trained volunteers who also live with HIV for one-on-one or group support.
Social and Emotional Assistance: Addressing various issues, including housing, finances, immigration, employment and mental health.
Communication Guidance: Help with discussing health topics within your family, workplace, or with healthcare professionals.
Women & Families Support: Services for women living with HIV, affected family members and fathers living with HIV in Sussex. This includes offering casework, group work and peer support to women living with HIV and their families.
The Lawson Unit: Working closely with other HIV clinics and community teams, as well as with the Lawson Unit Sunflower Clinic for women, which is a specialist clinic dedicated to providing a confidential and supportive clinic for Women Living with HIV. It allows access to a Doctor, Nurse, Health adviser and a Women’s Case Worker from the Sussex Beacon, all at one appointment.
Peer Mentoring: Connecting individuals with similar experiences to foster a supportive community.
Positive Fitness Class: A weekly Positive Fitness class, for people living with HIV across Sussex. The Positive Fitness Class is a physiotherapy, supervised group based on individualised exercises and educational support with HIV, general health and physical activity.
