Walking to fund SCAD research and save lives

Allison Lawson is raising money for Beat SCAD

Beat SCAD Research Walk. · 20 June 2026

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) can strike without warning. Together, we can fund the research to find answers.

Story

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a serious, under-diagnosed heart condition that can cause heart attacks in otherwise healthy people, often with no warning and no known cause.

Beat SCAD is a patient-led charity working to raise awareness, support those affected, and fund vital research to better understand and treat SCAD.

I am walking to raise money to fund research and ultimately save lives.

I had my SCAD in 2024 and with the help and support from the Beat SCAD team I am learning to live with this condition.

Why it matters

SCAD cannot currently be predicted or prevented, but research is changing that.

Every pound raised helps:

• Fund life-saving research

• Improve diagnosis and treatment

• Support patients and families

Together, we are finding answers – and saving lives.
