Story
The Altnets team is proudly participating in the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge to raise vital funds for a world-leading Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Altnets is taking part in support of our colleague Will, his partner Hattie, and their baby daughter Ada, who received a devastating rare neuroblastoma diagnosis at just six weeks old and is still undergoing treatment. The funding will go towards providing GOSH with a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, which will include a school, a playground, gardens, and so much more. It’s an incredible cause and one Altnets is honoured to support.
Over the weekend of May 23–24, our team will travel across a variety of challenging terrain from London to Brighton, covering distances ranging from 25km to the full 100km journey. Everyone shares the same objective: to raise as much money as possible for GOSH.
In preparation, we have been training intensely over the last couple of months to build both physical stamina and mental resilience - through long-distance hikes, active weekend trips, and organised team workout sessions at the gym next to our office. Even when we face adversity during training, we are reminded that our challenge is nothing compared to what the families and children at GOSH experience every day.
We’re determined to raise as much awareness and funding as possible for GOSH and the incredible teams who provide exceptional care and support for families like Will, Hattie, and Ada.
In Hattie’s own words “During our stay here we have met so many families and listened to their stories. Every story is heart breaking, no child or family should have to go through this. The money we are raising will go toward the new cancer centre, further developing research into treatments and providing additional beds to allow more children to be here and leave after ringing the bell. We hope and pray that one day that will be Ada along with all the brave families we have met along our journey.”
A message from Hattie and Will
“We can’t thank Altnets for all the love and support you have shown us during this challenging time. You have allowed us to spend precious time together as we support Ada in fighting this terrible cancer. We are such proud parents.
We can’t wait to watch the Altnets team take on their challenge and raise the funds that are truly going to help so many families both currently with us at Great Ormond Street and the families of the future.”
Every contribution makes a real difference. Your support helps Great Ormond Street Hospital continue its vital work, funding treatments, research, and support for children facing serious illness.
