In May 2024 I will be travelling to Nakuru, Kenya to volunteer to help vulnerable children through the Derby County Community Trust. This will involve coaching sport in schools, building appropriate school facilities such as classrooms, kitchens, toilet blocks, accommodation and playgrounds. The trip will provide ongoing support to the schools which are situated in one of the poorest areas in Nakuru. There is no government funding for these schools and they rely solely on charities to provide vital support, where these schools serve as a community lifeline as well. The poverty in which the families and children live are extreme, but having all important access to education, can ultimately change lives forever.

Funds raised will go towards items such as building materials, clean water infrastructure, educational materials, children's clothing and more. Part of the money I raise will also stay in Derby and help fund programmes for adults and children who are vulnerable, disadvantaged and/or disabled.
