In the heart of a large Delhi slum a little school offers a life-line to those that attend, helping them to break out of the poverty cycle they have been born into.

Story

The extent of poverty in the heart of a large Delhi Slum is unimaginable. Deep inside the slum, amidst the stench and odour of stagnant sewage and overflowing drains lives Happy Masih, an incredible man who founded and runs a school for the forgotten slum children. This school is making such an incredible difference to the lives of the children which attend. This school has been running now for five years. It is a wonderful project which has been funded almost the whole time by Happy out of his meagre monthly wage. The school is formally known as the Ashish Ashirewad Society Tuition Centre.

The school building is old and extremely dilapidated. The roof is made of plastic and bamboo and has been damaged by water, cats and birds and badly needs repair. The whole building doesnt have any foundations. In order to make the building secure, and enable for expansion of the school by building upwards, the building needs knocking down, foundations being dug and then re-building.
