The MPS Society has a team of runners taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 11th October 2026 and will be raising money to support children and families affected by rare conditions.

Story

As many of you know, running has been part of my (very early!) morning routine for over 10 years. Some say I almost run a “deconstructed” marathon every week; others call me Speedy Gonzalez. Either way, running has become much more than a habit, it’s been my rock.

After completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2022 and the London Big Half in 2024, it’s time to take on a new challenge, but this time, for something deeply personal. On 11th October, I’ll be running the London Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for the MPS Society.

Last year, a close relative of mine was diagnosed with Hunter Syndrome (MPS II), a rare inherited condition that causes harmful sugar molecules to build up in the body’s tissues. It reminded me how fortunate I am to be in good health. More importantly, it inspired me to use that health, energy and ability to run in support of something bigger than myself: the urgent need for rare disease research.

The MPS Society is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by MPS and related conditions. They provide specialist advice, advocacy, emotional support, and they fund vital research. In other words, their work truly changes lives.

I’m committed to raising at least £700 and would be incredibly grateful for your support in helping me get there. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference to a child or adult living with MPS, and to the families navigating it alongside them.

Whether you’re able to contribute or simply share this page, it would mean just as much.

Let’s make a positive impact together.

Thank you so much,

Merci infiniment,

Anaïs
