Ladies Taking on the Pitch for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Zara Woodman is raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

Charity football match · 5 May 2025

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

We’ve put together a team of 10 ladies – Amy, Antonia, Jenni, Lorraine, Nikola, Francesca, Poonam, Poppy, Hayley and Zara – to take on a charity football match at Anchorians Football Grounds on 5th May (Bank Holiday)! Most of us have never played a football match before, and some of us can barely kick a ball 🤣 But it’s all for an incredible cause!

We’ll be training in the weeks leading up to the match, hoping to improve and give it our best shot. All funds raised will go towards Anchorians FC’s fundraising efforts for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Every day, people are diagnosed with Crohn's or Colitis, and sadly, it’s life-changing. This year, we’re raising funds and awareness in support of Ron John, a beloved former coach at the club who has been battling IBD.

Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your support, and we hope you’ll cheer us on!
