Story
Please donate towards my charity fundraiser to raise money for Ty Hafan Hospice. Ty Hafan is a local charity to myself based in South Wales that work extremely hard to provide comfort, care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and provide support to their loved ones. As a father myself and a lover of children I would do anything to bring happiness to children and provide support to the families of those children affected by life-shortening conditions.
I have chosen to raise awareness of the excellent work that Ty Hafan do and to raise as much funding as possible to their work by undertaking a challenge and hope that as many people as possible will make a donation no matter the size and also share my adventure to further raise donations. As a keen adventurer I have taken it upon myself to travel the length of the Welsh coast by man power alone through the means of hiking, cycling and kayaking. I will start in Chepstow and finish in Chester using the Wales Coastal Path route when walking, the Wales Coast Cycling routes in the North and Western areas of Wales and kayak the Pembrokeshire coastline. I will be blogging my progress using videos, photos and posts with the help of my wife who will be accompanying me as my support crew along with my 4 year old daughter for the North and West region in the family camper. A friend will be joining me from New Quay onwards which will consist of the kayaking and further walking and cycling.
Here is a breakdown of the challenge.
Cycle Chester to Bangor (stop off in Llandudno to walk the coast line)
Walk the coast line of Anglesey and Hollyhead
Cycle (27m miles) and walk the Wales coastal path for the LLyn Peninsula region
Cycle Harlech to Aberystwyth
Walk Aberystwyth to Newquay
Kayak the Pembrokeshire coast line (New quay to Amroth), walking areas that are not accessible.
Cycle and walk the South Wales Coastal path (Amroth to Chepstow)
The money we raise will go along way to helping Ty Hafan provide life changing care and support to the children and their families to help them enjoy life.
We will be starting the challenge on the 27th May.
We look forward to your support and feel free to join us for a stretch of the adventure and be a part of something special.
Many thanks,
Andrew
