Story
I'm running with Moya Cole Hospice in the Manchester Half Marathon 2026!
In the world of Ironman triathlons, ultra marathons and other extreme challenges, I appreciate that a half marathon may not grab the headlines. That said, let me tell you why I’m doing it…
I was first introduced to the amazing work of the people at Moyà Cole when my Sister-in-Law and all round superhero, Alex registered there following her terminal cancer diagnosis. It wasn’t just the holistic care and consolidated medical advice that made a difference to Alex and her young family, it is the people and the personal touches at the most difficult times. During a recent stay, Alex was disappointed to miss watching Strictly with her girls (not sure Paul was bothered). Without fuss or fan fair, the team set up the day room with drinks, snacks, paddles, invited the family and put up decorations to create the most amazing viewing experience for the whole family. These things make the difference.
My Dad, was also a patient registered with Moyà Cole. Last week he lost his battle with heart failure. Whilst he didn’t attend as an inpatient, he did utilise the services as an outpatient. This gave him access to medical advice and even an urgent referral back to the heart failure clinic, cutting months of his wait times. This boosted quality of life but also provides much needed reassurance and access to specialist care.
I know times are tough, so please support if you can. ❤️
More info if my ramblings don’t swing it…

I'm supporting an amazing cause that provides incredible care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and supports their families and carers across Greater Manchester.
Moya Cole Hospice is a lifeline for many, but with only a third of their funding coming from the NHS, they need to raise £20,000 each day to continue offering their essential services and compassionate care.
Every step I take will help Moya Cole Hospice provide vital support for patients and their families. Please consider donating what you can to help make a difference.
£10.85 could help provide TVs and WiFi for inpatients to enjoy during their stay.
£20.60 could pay for a hand or foot massage with one of their therapists to help a patient or carer relax.
£30.60 could fund a bereavement session for a loved one with their specialist team.
Thank you for your support!
